Weave by Mozilla Labs: Synchronise Firefox on multiple computers
Recently Mozilla the makers of Firefox have released a new add-on which allows you to synchronise Firefox on multiple computers.
Weave as it’s called runs in the background of Firefox and will upload your data (encrypted) to Mozilla’s secure servers where it can be accessed, retrieved and synchronised again with your other computers. So far Weave is capable of synchronising Bookmarks, Browsing History, Cookies, Saved Passwords, Tabs and Saved Form Data. In future releases you’ll be able to synchronise Extensions, Themes, Search Plugins and Microformats too.
Currently there is a fantastic extension which I use called Foxmarks Bookmarks Synchronizer which will upload your bookmarks to their server for synchronisation with your multiple computers, but that’s about as far as it goes.
Weave is currently in beta testing so don’t expect a problem free service. Personally I’ve been waiting for an extension like this for years and Mozilla has finally delivered one. If you’ve ever wanted to synchronise multiple computers running Firefox then look no further than Weave.
Thanks,
Marat
Firefox 3: Help set a Guinness World Record
Image via Wikipedia
Tomorrow the 17th of June is the day when you can help the millions of Firefox users set a new world record for the most software downloads in 24 hours.
Sounds like a good deal, right? All you have to do is get Firefox 3 during Download Day to help set the record for most software downloads in 24 hours – it’s that easy. We’re not asking you to swallow a sword or to balance 30 spoons on your face, although that would be kind of awesome.
The official date for the launch of Firefox 3 is June 17, 2008. Join our community and this effort by pledging today. ~ Spread Firefox
The day many have been waiting for is nearly here, Firefox 3 is coming out of hiding and it’s loaded with new features and improvements.
With more than 15,000 improvements, Firefox 3 is faster, safer and smarter than before. ~ Spread Firefox
If you use Firefox help set the world record by pledging to download Firefox 3 today and downloading it tomorrow.
Firefox needs your help.
Thanks,
Marat

Zemanta ltd: Making blogging easier
Zemanta has released a new super super cool addition to the blogging world. You can either have it integrated with your
favourite blog (WordPress.org, Blogger.com, TypePad.com, LiveJournal.com or MovableType) or to make it easier to use Zemanta on multiple blogging websites at the same time you can download their extensions/pluggins.
I have personally started using a Firefox pluggin of Zemanta. It gives you a small sidebar in your ‘Write Post’ window which recommends images for your posts, articles similar to your post and even links to some of the words in your post.
Zemanta is something that I find very useful and have fallen in love with since I first discovered it (around two hours ago
). The reason why I have fallen in love with Zemanta is because in all of my posts I like to refer my readers to Wikipedia or other websites for certain keywords which I believe not all users may know. To accomplish this I must manually find the website, copy the links and paste them under each keyword. Zemanta searches Wikipedia and other websites using the keywords in posts and displays the links as options that I may chose which will then automatically place that link under that keyword.

Marat
You can never tweak too much
Well since I’ve been gone for such a long time I thought I’d make a new post and include a few new little scripts/extensions/tweaks I’ve found and started using for some time now.
First off I must note that in order to utilise any of the following scripts/extensions/tweaks you must use Mozilla Firefox. I haven’t said this enough but please by god don’t use Internet Explorer and just switch for Firefox already
Ok now that we’ve got that out of the way lets begin.
Greasemonkey is a Mozilla Firefox extension that allows users to install scripts that make on-the-fly changes to most HTML-based web pages. As the Greasemonkey scripts are persistent, the changes made to the web pages are executed every time the page is opened, making them effectively permanent for the user running the script. ~ Wikipedia
