Import Your Facebook Birthdays Into Your Preferred Calendar
Today sitting here bored and trying to find things to do I decided to see if there was a way I could use my Facebook’s contacts birthdays in my personal calendar (on this occasion my Google Calendar).
A simple search on Google linked me to a website fbCal.com. fbCal is a Facebook application which generates and hosts an iCal Calendar for you on their servers. From there all you have to do is copy the link to your newly generated calendar and add it to your favourite calendar application.
Two seconds later you have a complete calendar with all your Facebook’s contacts birthdays. It’s as simple as that.
Thanks,
Marat
Gmail is getting some work done
Since the unveiling of Gmail in 2004 we have seen a new trend in the way an email client should work, look and behave.
Google and Gmail have shown the rest of the world that having a successful product isn’t about how good it looks, but it’s mainly about how easy it is to use and what features are provided to give the user an experience like no other.
(Un)fortunately since that time Gmail hasn’t done much in terms of its own look. Gmail has a very simple interface, and for good reasons. One of the main ones is speed, with Gmail because there aren’t any pictures, there’s no pretty graphics or flash Gmail pages load instantly leaving you with a clean and simple interface to conduct your email associated tasks.
But now… well not actually now, maybe in the near future I hope
it is rumoured that Gmail will be releasing a new look.
Google Calendar teams up with CAT (Calendar for TV)
If you read my blog regurly you would know that I love both Google Calendar and CAT (Calendar for TV). And two days ago I found a way to join them together to make one super dooper mega cool all in one ultimate calendar (like that name?
).
Well the truth is, I’ve always used my Google Calendar for personal use, work & uni but had to rely on CAT and their website for all my TV show schedules. But now you can, at home, by yourself, using only the tools in your shed (shed needed) make them work together
And to tell you the truth it’s quite simple.

Active Desktop Calendar + Google Calendar = 1337
If you use Google Calendar like me and want to have it visible on your desktop then you’re not alone.
I have searched far and wide for an application that would display my Google Calendar on my Windows desktop. I had hoped that Google would wake up and realise that many people want to view their Google Calendar from the comfort of their desktops without having to always open up their Internet browser (get Firefox) and load Google Calendar.
Well a few months ago I had found the solution to all our problems. The program is called Active Desktop Calendar (ADC). Truthfully this is one of the biggest desktop calendar programs available on the market today, but what makes ADC even better is the fact that they have Google Calendar support.
